Naval Commander Jonathan Hullihan
Jonathan has been practicing law since 2007, with legal and leadership experience around the globe on complex matters of law, policy, and regulation.
Jonathan attended Texas State University on a football scholarship graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History in 2004, cum laude, and subsequently earned his law degree in 2007 from Loyola College of Law-New Orleans in 2007.
After graduation from law school, Jonathan was commissioned as a Naval Officer in the United States Navy in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. (JAGC). As an active-duty Navy JAG for over 13 years, Hullihan navigated the nation’s most complex matters of law and policy, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan, serving as legal counsel and advisor to the Navy SEAL teams, United States Navy Blue Angels, and other Special Operations units in the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) theater of operations. Hullihan’s experience includes counsel on rules of engagement and the law of war for elimination of hostile forces, drafting legislative proposals, analysis of congressional committee reports, and constitutional analysis of national authority for named operations.
Following active duty, Hullihan practiced law at a Houston based commercial litigation firm responsible for the full scope of legal client services for complex civil litigation and cyber-security law. As a recognized DoD expert in international law, cyber law, and intelligence law, he continues to serve as a Commander in the Naval Reserves, assigned to a National Security Law unit responsible for the full range of integrated national security law and policy analysis for military activities worldwide. Jonathan believes strongly in the rule of law, individual liberty, and adherence to the United States Constitution and our founding principles. Jonathan now serves as the Texas Director of Legal Operations for County Citizens Defending Freedom-USA, a non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization with affiliate chapters in Florida and Texas. CCDF-USA is committed to resolving breaches of freedom and liberty through local awareness, local light, and local action.
